Hon. Solomon Adaelu

Honourable Solomon Ezinwa Adaelu was born on January 1st, 1972 into the family of Elder E. O. Adaelu and Clara Adaelu of Abayi Amaugwu Village in Osisioma Ngwa Local Government Area of Abia State, Nigeria. He is an entrepreneur, industrialist and politician representing Obingwa/Osisioma/Ugbunagbo Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives.

Hon. Solomon Adaelu Early Life

Born into a wealthy family, Honourable Adaelu bgan his basic education at Community Primary School, Abayi, Aba from where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate. After that, he proceeded to the renowned Ngwa High School Aba where he obtained his West African School Certificate O’level in 1993. While a student in Ngwa High School Aba, his leadership qualities started manifesting at a very tender age and then resulted in his selection as the Senior Prefect of the School. He thereafter studied at Federal University of Technology, Owerri where he obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering in 2002.

Shortly after his degree, Honourable Adaelu was posted to Ogun State for his mandatory one year service under the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). While in Ogun, he was a class teacher at Mayflower Secondary School. After his NYSC, he worked as the Production Manager in his father’s company Chemlap Industries Limited in Aba, Abia State. He also worked at Nschem Industrial Production Limited where he grew to Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer.

Shortly after joining politics, Honourable Adaelu was appointed the Commissioner for Public Utilities in 2009 under the administration of Senator T. A. Orji in Abia State. In 2011, he was moved to the Ministry of Rural Development. In March 2015, he resigned his position as Commissioner to contest the primaries of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to represent Obingwa, Osisioma and Ugwunagbo Federal Constituency in the Federal House of representatives, Abuja. He won the election. He serves in the maritime safety, education and administration committees in the House of Representatives. In November 2017, he left the People's Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressive Congress (APC).
