Ebonyi local government area is in Ebonyi state, Sooutheast geopolitical zone of Nigeria and has its headquarters in the town of Ugbodo. The LGA comprises of towns and villages that include Amachi, Izzi Unuhu, Ishieke, Edda, Amagu, Nkaleke, Achara, and Okpui-Tumo. The population of Ebonyi local government area is put at 154,881 inhabitants with the dominant tribe in the area being the Igbo.
