Ifedore

Ifedore LGA is in Ondo state, Southwest Nigeria and has its headquarters in the town of Igbara-oke. The LGA comprises of several towns and villages such as Ijare, Ilara, Ipogun, Amaye, Imokuti, Odo-oja, Odo-esi, and Ogbontitun. The estimated population of Ifedore LGA is given as 201,774 inhabitants with the area mostly populated by members of the Yoruba etyhnic group. The Yoruba language is commonly spoken in the area while the religions of Islam and Christianity are widely practiced in the area. Prominent traditional rulers in Ifedore LGA include the Olowa of Igbara-oke while notable festivals held in the area include the New Yam and the Oyemekun festivals. There are several landmarks in Ifedore LGA and these include the Elizade University.

Ifedore LGA covers a total area of 295 square kilometres and has an average temperature of 28 degrees centigrade. The area witnesses two distinct seasons which are the dry and the rainy seasons. The total rainfall in Ifedore LGA is put at 1950 mm of rainfall per annum while the area has an average wind speed of 10 km/h.

ECONOMY OF IFEDORE

Farming is a key economic activity in Ifedore LGA with crops such as cocoa, plantain, and yam grown in substantially large quantities within the area.  The LGA also hosts several markets which provide the residents of the area with platforms to exchange a variety of goods and services. Ifedore LGA also hosts several banks, hotels, relaxation spots and both private and public institutions.
