Karasuwa

Karasuwa local government area is domiciled in Yobe state, North-east geopolitical enclave of Nigeria and has its headquarters in the town of Jajimaji. The LGA shares boundaries with the Nguru, Bade, and the Ysufari LGAs. Towns and villages that make up Karasuwa LGA include Waro, Yajiri, Jajimaji, Gasma, Garin Gawo, Fajiganari, and Wachakal. The estimated population of Karasuwa LGA is put at 184,321 inhabitants with the majority of the area’s inhabitants being members of the Manga tribe. The Bade language is extensively spoken in Karasuwa LGA while the religion of Islam is commonly practiced in the area.

Karasuwa LGA has a viable trade sector and hosts a large number of markets where a variety of commodities are bought and sold. The LGA is also a hub for the rearing and sales of a number of domestic animals such as camels, donkeys and goats. Other important economic activities engaged in by the people of Karasuwa LGA include hunting and farming.
