Nangere local government area is domiciled in Yobe state, North-east geopolitical zone of Nigeria and has its headquarters in the town of Sabon Gari Nangere. Towns and villages that make up Nangere LGA include Dawasa, Tagamasa, Sabon Gari Nangere, Tikau, and Dorowa. Nangere LGA hosts the Tikau Emirate and has an estimated population of 188,761 inhabitants with the area mostly populated by members of the Karai and the Fulani ethnic groups. The Karai, Hausa, and Fufulde languages are commonly spoken in Nangere LGA while the religion of Islam is widely practiced in the area.
