The headquarters of the LGA are in the town of Kanama with the LGA comprising of several towns and villages such as Bukarti, Bulabulin, Kanama, and Zagi Biniri. Yunusari LGA is bordererd by parts of the Niger Republic and has an estimated total population of 271,303 inhabitants with the area majorly inhabited by members of the Hausa/Fulani ethnic groups.
