Uzo-uwani

Uzo Uwani local government area is found in Enugu state, south-east geopolitical zone of Nigeria. The headquarters of the LGA are in the town of Umulokpa with the LGA consisting of several towns and villages such as Nimbo, Abbi, Ugbenu, Nkpologu, Uvuru, Nrobo, Adani, Akpogu, and Ukpata. The estimated population of Uzo-Uwani LGA is put at 196,733 inhabitants with the area predominantly inhabited by members of the Igbo ethnic group. The Igbo language is commonly spoken in the LGA while the religion of Christianity is widely practiced in the area. Prominent festivals celebrated in Uzo-uwani LGA include the Ibone, Iwai, and the New Yam festivals while notable landmarks in the area include the Adada Secondary School, Nkpologwu and the Girls Secondary School Umulokpa.
