Ogori/magongo

Ogori magongo LGA is situated in Kogi state, Northcentral geopolitical zone of Nigeria. The headquarters of the LGA are in the town of Akpafa with the LGA made up of several towns and villages such as Afuku, Ogbekete, Ugugu, Opakeru, Ileteju, Efan, Akonoboro, and Eku. The current estimated population of Ogori magongo LGA is put at 153,714 inhabitants with the LGA mostly inhabited by members of the Osayen and Oko ethnic affiliations. The Osayen and Oko dialects are commonly spoken in Ogori magongo LGA while the religions of Christianity and Islam are practiced in the area. Popular festivals held in Ogori magongo LGA include the Owiya Osese and the Ovia Osese festivals while the prominent traditional rulers in the LGA include the Magongo of Magongo and the Ologori of Ogori.
