Gombi

Gombi local government area is in Adamawa state, Northeast geopolitical enclave of Nigeria. The headquarters of the LGA are domiciled in the town of Gombi and comprise of a number of towns and villages which include Ga, Garkida, Guyaku, Lala, Shigane, Tofa, Wuyaku, and Bawa. The estimated population of Gombi LGA is 157,803 inhabitants with the area’s most prominent tribes being the Hausa and the Fulani. The Fufulde and Hausa languages are extensively spoken in the area while Islam and Christianity are the commonly practiced religions in the LGA.

Gombi LGA consists of rocky terrains and witnesses two distinct seasons which are the dry and the rainy seasons. The average temperature of the area is 34 degrees centigrade while the average wind speed in the LGA is 10 km/h.

ECONOMY OF GOMBI

Farming is the major occupation of the people of Gombi LGA with a number of crops such as millet, sorghum, and guineacorn grown in the area. Also, Animals such as cows, camels, and sheep are reared and sold in the LGA. Trade also blossoms in the area with the LGA hosting several markets where a variety of commodities are bought and sold by the dwellers of the area and surrounding climes.
