Bogoro

Bogoro local government area is found in Bauchi state which is located within Northeast Nigeria. The Bogoro LGA comprises of several towns and villages which include Dashem, Bamin Kogi, Gambar Sabon Layi, Bar Arewa, Gwaranga, Gargare, Bogoro and Lusa. The headquarters of the area are in the town of Bogoro while the population of the LGA stands at 157,332 inhabitants. The most populous tribes are the Hausa and the Fulani while Islam is the widely practiced religion in the area. Fufulde and Hausa languages are commonly spoken in the area.

Bogoro local government area covers a total area of 894 square kilometres and has two distinct seasons which are the rainy and dry seasons. The humidity of the area averages 12 percent while the total annual precipitation of the area is 950 mm.

ECONOMY OF BOGORO

Agriculture is an important economic feature of Bogoro LGA with a majority of the area’s dwellers engaging in Subsistence farming. Other important economic activities in Bogoro local government area include hunting, blacksmithing, and cloth weaving. Trade also flourishes in Bogoro LGA with the area playing host to several markets which include the Gobia Cattle market.
