Zaki

Zaki local government area is found in Bauchi state, North-east Nigeria with its headquarters in the town of Katagum. The LGA hosts the Katagum Emirate and is made up of a number of towns and villages which include Lariye and Katagum. The estimated population of Zaki LGA is put at 180,994 inhabitants with the area hosting members of diverse ethnic groups such as the Hausa, Kanuri, and kare. The Hausa and Bade languages are commonly spoken in Zaki LGA while the religion of Islam is extensively practiced in the area.  Notable landmarks in Zaki LGA include the Tiyin Model Primary Healthcare Center.

Zaki LGA occupies a total area of 1,436 square kilometres and has an average temperature of 32 degrees centigrade. The LGA experiences two major seasons which are the dry and the rainy seasons with average wind speed in the area put at 10 km/h.

ECONOMY OF ZAKI

Zaki LGA is known for its rich farming heritage with crops such as onions, millet, groundnut, and sugarcane grown in the LGA. A number of domestic animals such as cows, goats, and horses are also reared and sold in the LGA. The dwellers of Zaki LGA also engage in economic activities such as hunting, craftsmanship and trade.
