About Warji Local Government Area (L.G.A)

Warji local government area is found in Bauchi state, North-east geopolitical zone of Nigeria. The headquarters of the LGA are in the town of Warji and the LGA shares boundaries with parts of Jigawa state. The towns and villages that make up Warji LGA include Badiyaso, Gabanga, Sosaye, Tuya, Katanga, Shitako, Disa, Dawatsi, Marasuwa, and Warji. The estimated population of Warji LGA is put at 188,904 inhabitants with the area’s populace featuring a number of tribes such as the Talakawa and the Warjawa. The Warjawa language is one of the spoken languages in Warji LGA with the religion of Islam as the mostly practiced in the area. Warji LGA is a part of the Ningi Emirate and the area has a number of landmarks such as the Warji General Hospital.    


GEOGRAPHY OF WARJI

Warji LGA covers a total area of 625 square kilometres and has an average temperature of 32 degrees centigrade. The average humidity level in the area is estimated to be around 29 percent while the average wind speed in the area is put at 10 km/h.


ECONOMY OF WARJI

Farming is an important economic activity in Warji LGA with the area renowned for the cultivation of Moringa and a few other crops. Trade also blossoms in the LGA with the area hosting a number of markets such as the Warji Central market where a variety of commodities are bought and sold. Other important occupations of the people of Warji LGA include food processing, hunting, and crafts making.

HISTORY OF WARJI

Warji LGA was created in the year 1996.
