About Dambam Local Government Area (L.G.A)

Dambam local government area is in Bauchi state, Northeast geopolitical zone of Nigeria. The headquarters of the LGA are in the town of Dambam and is made up of a number of towns and villages which include Dagauda, Dambam, Jalam, and Yamai. The population of Dambam LGA is estimated at 121,067 inhabitants with the majority tribe being the Hausa. The religion of Islam is widely practiced in the area while the Hausa and English languages are spoken in the LGA.


GEOGRAPHY OF DAMBAM

Dambam LGA sits on a total area of 1,077 square kilometres with the average temperature of the area put at 32.5 degrees centigrade. The LGA witnesses two major seasons; the rainy and the dry seasons while the humidity level is pegged at 18 percent.


ECONOMY OF DAMBAM

Popular economic activities in Dambam LGA include farming, animal rearing, pottery, mat making and trade. The LGA is home to several markets where the area’s inhabitants go to buy and sell a variety of commodities.
