Sule Tankarkar local government area is situated in Jigawa state, North-west geopolitical zone of Nigeria. Sule Tankarkar LGA is a part of the prestigious Gumel Emirate with the LGA sharing a border with parts of Niger Republic. The headquarters of the LGA are in the town of Sule Tankarkar with the LGA constituted of several towns and villages such as Amanga, Danyardi, Togai, Jeke, Asayaya, Dangwanki, Maizuwo, and Matoya. The estimated population of Sule Tankarkar LGA is put at 187,945 inhabitants with the area mostly populated by members of the Hausa and Fulani ethnic groups. The Hausa and the Fufulde languages are commonly spoken in the LGA while the religion of Islam is widely practiced in the area.
