Yankwashi local government area is found in Jigawa state, North-west geopolitical zone of Nigeria. The headquarters of the LGA are in the town of karkarna and the LGA comprises of several towns and villages which include Belas, Dandi, Ringim, Zungumba, Rauda, Daba, Badaza, Gezoj, and Achilafia. The estimated population of Yankwashi LGA is put at 164,094 inhabitants with the area predominantly occupied by members of the Hausa/Fulani ethnic groups. The Hausa language is commonly spoken in Yankwashi LGA while the religion of Islam is predominantly practiced in the area.
