Aliero

Aliero local government area is found in Kebbi state which is in the Northwest geopolitical division of Nigeria. The LGA has its headquarters in the town of Aliero and is made up of a number of towns and villages which include Aliero, Ungwan, Gabas, Marmaro, Koko, Kaura, and Ungwan Alu. Islam is the widely practiced religion in Aliero with the Hausa and Fulani languages commonly spoken in the area. Important landmarks in Aliero LGA include the Kebbi state University of Science and Technlogy.

Aliero LGA has an average temperature of 33 degrees centigrade with humidity estimated at 35 percent. The area has two major seasons which are the rainy and dry seasons with the latter lasting for much longer and also featuring very hot temperatures and increased sunshine.

Aliero LGA has a vibrant agricultural sector and has the enviable status as the Nation’s largest producer of Onions. Other crops grown in Aliero include Mangoes, rice and guineacorn. The people of Aliero LGA are also known for bonesetting with a sizeable percentage of the area’s inhabitants engaging in this enterprise.
