Shanga local government area is domiciled in Kebbi state, North-west geopolitical enclave of Nigeria. The LGA has its headquarters in the town of Shanga and is made up of several towns and villages such as Kwanji, Shanga, Golongo, Sawashi, Hundeji, Takware, Rafin Kirya, and Sakace. The current estimated population of Shanga LGA is put at 279,002 inhabitants with the area predominantly occupied by members of the Shanga ethnic division. The Shanga dialect is commonly spoken in the LGA while the religion of Islam is widely practiced in the area. Shanga LGA is a part of the prestigious Yauri Emirate and has a number of notable landmarks such as the Science and Technology College, Shanga.
