Augie

Augie is a local government area found in Kebbi state, Northwest Nigeria. The headquarters of the area is in the town of Augie and the LGA comprises of a number of towns and villages which include Illela, Bubuce, Bagaye, and Birnin Tudu. Augie local government area has an estimated population of 155, 870 inhabitants with the major tribes being the Hausa and the Fulani. Islam is the most practiced religion in the area while the Hausa and Fufulde languages are commonly spoken in the area.

Agriculture is a critical economic feature of the Augie LGA with crops such as Banana, Mango, groundnut, millet, and sugarcane grown in substantially large quantities. Hunting and Cattle rearing are also key economic activities in the area.
