Kokona local government area is situated in Nasarawa state, North-central geopolitical zone of Nigeria. The LGA is made up of a number of towns and villages such as Garaku, Akware, Doma, Bazariye, Gungu, Endo, Kandare, and Shabu. The estimated population of Kokona LGA is put at 183,776 inhabitants with the majority of the area’s inhabitants being members of the Mada tribal affiliation. The Mada language is commonly spoken in Kokona LGA while the religions of Christianity and Islam are practiced in the area. Kokona LGA has a number of prominent traditional rulers which include the Abaga toni of Toni Kingdom.
