Ahoada West

Ahoada west local government area is located in Rivers state, Southsouth Nigeria. The headquarters of Ahoada west LGA are at Akinima and the area is bordered by the Ogba LGA, the Abua Odual LGA, and the Ahoada East LGA. Created in 1996, the dominant tribes in Ahoada west are the Ekpeye, Engenni, and the Ogbogolo. Popular towns in Ahoada west LGA include Abarikpo, Anakpa, Edugberi, Ihuechi, Odiapiti, Uyalama, and Oruama. With an estimated population of 288, 502 inhabitants, the area’s inhabitants practice several religions with the majority being Christians.

Ahoada west local government area was created in the year 1996.
