Gummi local government area is domiciled in Zamfara state, Northwest geopolitical zone of Nigeria and has its headquarters are in the town of Gummi. Towns and villages that make up Gummi LGA include Birnin Tudu, Gummi, Albarkawa, Yardiga, Yartsayasu, and Lemawa. The estimated population of Gummi LGA is 204,556 inhabitants with the area’s major inhabitants being members of the Hausa and the Fulani ethnic divisions. Gummi LGA hosts the prestigious Gummi Emirate which spans several decades. The Hausa and the Fufulde languages are commonly spoken in the area while the religion of Islam is extensively practiced within the area.
