Tsafe

Tsafe local government area is situated in Zamfara state, North-west geopolitical zone of Nigeria and has its headquarters in the town of Chafe. The LGA hosts the Tsafe Emirate and has a number of towns and villages within its territory such as Dokolo, Bilbis, Daji, Yan Doton Daji, Yankuzo, Kizara, Magazu, and Keta. The estimated population of Tsafe LGA is put at 199,303 inhabitants with the area primarily occupied by members of the Hausa and Fulani ethnic groups. The Hausa and Fufulde languages are commonly spoken in the LGA while the religion of Islam is extensively practiced in the area. Notable landmarks in Tsafe LGA include the Yandoton-Daji hospital and the Tsafe School of Health Technology.

Tsafe LGA occupies a total area of 1,698 square kilometres and has an average temperature of 34 degrees centigrade. The LGA witnesses two major seasons which are the dry and the rainy seasons with the dry seasons in the LGA typically characterized by very hot and humid weather.

ECONOMY OF TSAFE

Tsafe LGA is a hub for the rearing and sales of a variety of domestic animals such as camels and donkeys. The LGA is also known for its viable trade sector with a number of markets where a varietry of commodities are bought and sold found within the area. The people of Tsafe LGA also engage in pottery, blacksmithing and farming.
