Shinkafi local government area is found in Zamfara state, North-west geopolitical zone of Nigeria. The headquarters of the LGA are in the town of Shinkafi and the LGA is bordered by the Zurmi Maradun LGA and by parts of Sokoto state and the Niger Republic. Towns and villages that make up Shinkafi LGA include Miyasa, Shinkafi, Bwane, Tunga, Fidani, Tubali, and Faru. The estimated population of Shinkafi LGA is put at 177,811 inhabitants with the area predominantly occupied by members of the Hausa and Fulani ethnic divisions.
