Ihitte Uboma local government area is in Imo state which is in the Southeast geopolitical zone of Nigeria. The headquarters of the LGA are in the town of Isinweke while the LGA is made up of towns and villages such as Amakohia, Nnacheru, Umuode, Ato-Werem, Omuchienta, Emekengwe, Atekenta, and Umuezeokwa. The estimated population of Ihitte Uboma LGA is 175,088 inhabitants with the predominant tribe in the area being the Igbo people. The Igbo language is widely spoken in the area while Christianity is the primarily practiced religion in the area. Important festivals in Ihitte Uboma include the Iwa akwa festival while the notable landmarks in the area include the Imo state college of Education.

Ihitte Uboma LGA has a vibrant agricultural sector and is known for the cultivation of a number of crops such as Yam, cassava, and oil palm. The area also hosts a number of markets such as the Nkwo Ihitte, and the Isinweke daily markets where a large number of commodities are bought and sold.
