Mbaitoli

Mbaitoli local government area is in Imo state, South-east geopolitical zone of Nigeria. The headquarters of the LGA are in the town of Nwaorieubi and the area is bordered by the Oru, Njaba, Isu, Owerri north, Owerri west, Oguta, and Ikeduru LGAs. Towns and villages that make up Mbaitoli LGA include Mbieri, Ogwa, Ogbaku, Umunoha, Ifakala, Orodo, Afara, and Ubomiri. The estimated population of Mbaitoli LGA is put at 201,648 inhabitants with the area mostly populated by members of the Igbo ethnic group. The Igbo language is commonly spoken in the area while the religion of Christianity is widely practiced in the area. A number of traditional festivals are held in Mbaitoli LGA and these include the Owu and the Ekeleke festivals while notable landmarks in the area include the Federal School of Soil Science and the Igwekala shrine.
