Isiala Mbano local government area is in Imo state which is in the South-east geopolitical zone of Nigeria. The headquarters of the LGA are in the town of Umuelemai and the LGA shares borders with Onuimo, Nwangele, Ehime Mbano, Ikeduru, and Mbaitolu LGAs. Towns and villages that make up Isiala Mbano LGA include Anara, Osu owerre, Ezumoha, Ezihe, Umuozu, Amaraku, Umuenyi, and Ibeme. The estimated population of Isiala Mbano LGA is 169,738 inhabitants with the vast majority of the area’s inhabitants being members of the Igbo ethnic group. The Igbo language is extensively spoken in the LGA while Christianity is the most practiced religion in the area. Popular festivals celebrated in isiala Mbano LGA include the Ozuruimo and the New Yam festivals while the Odu of Osu owerre is one of the prominent traditional rulers in the area.
