Oruk anam local government area is found in Akwa Ibom state, South-south geopolitical zone of Nigeria. Oruk anam LGA is bordered by the Ikot Abasi, Mkpat enin, and Ukanafun LGAs. The LGA comprises of several towns and villages which include Ikot Okoro, Ikot Afanga, Ikot Ntuk, Obio Akpa, Ekparakwa, Inen Nsai, and Ntak Ibesit. The estimated population of Oruk anam LGA is put at 141,608 imhabitants with the area mostly inhabited by members of the Annang ethnic affiliation. The Annang language is extensively spoken in the LGA while the religion of Christianity is primarily practiced in the area. Notable landmarks in Oruk anam LGA include the General Hospital at Ikot Okoro.
