Ibesikpo Asutan local government area is situated in Akwa Ibom state which is in the South-south geopolitical division of Nigeria. The headquarters of the LGA are in the town of Nnung Udoe Ibesikpo while the area is bordered by the Uruan, Nsit Atai, Etinan, Nsit Ibom, and Uyo LGAs. Ibesikpo Asutan comprises of several towns and villages such as Ikot Nko, Akpa Utong, Ikot Atang uma, Ikot Edium, Ikot Itok, Obio Aduang, Ntuk Otong, and Aba Ukpo. The estimated population of Ibesikpo Asutan LGA is 79,656 inhabitants with the area being majorly populated by the Ibibio people. The Ibibio language is widely spoken in Ibesikpo Asutan LGA while Christianity is the extensively practiced religion in the LGA. Popular festivals held in Ibesikpo Asutan LGA include the Ekong and the Usoro Ekpo festivals while notable landmarks in the area include the Mount Carmel General Hospital.
