Ibiono Ibom local government area is in Akwa Ibom state, Southsouth geopolitical zone of Nigeria. The headquarters of the LGA are in the town of Oko Ita and is made up of towns and villages such as Idoro,Use Ndon, Ikpanya, Afua, Ididep, Usen Ikot, Afaha Obio Eno, and Mbiabong. The estimated population of Ibiono Ibom is 83,660 inhabitants with the area’s major dwellers being members of the Ibibio ethnic division. The Ibibio and Efik languages are commonly spoken in the LGA with Christianity as the LGA’s most practiced religion. Notable landmarks in Ibiono Ibom LGA include the Cairn of Mary Slessor at Ikot Oku and the Mary Slessor secondary school.
