Gwer East local government area is found in Benue state, Northcentral Nigeria and has its headquarters in the town of Aliade. Gwer East LGA shares borders with Konshisha, Tarka, Gwer west, Oju, and Otukpo LGAs. Several towns and villages make up Gwer East LGA and these include Ainu, Gbuka, Gigi, Njiriv, Ingohov, Agono, Taraku, Raav, and Ukpar. The estimated population of Gwer east LGA is 159,613 inhabitants with the majority of the area’s inhabitants being from the Masev ethnic sub-division. The Masev language is extensively spoken in the LGA while Christianity and Islam are commonly practiced in the area. Notable landmarks in Gwer East LGA include the Taraku Mills limited.
