Ogbadigbo local government area is domiciled in Benue state,North-central geopolitical zone of Nigeria. The headquarters of the LGA are in the town of Otukpa and the LGA shares borders with the Okpokwu LGA and with parts of Kogi and Enugu states. Districts that make up Ogbadigbo LGA include Orokam, Owukpa, and Otukpa. The estimated population of Ogbadigbo LGA is put at 232,001 inhabitants with the area mostly inhabited by members of the Idoma ethnic group. The Idoma language is extensively spoken in the LGA while the religions of Christianity and Islam are widely practiced in the area.
Ogbadigbo LGA covers a total area of 598 square kilometres and has an average temperature of 28 degrees centigrade. The popular Ogbadigbo stream runs through the LGA while the average wind speed in the area is put at 11km/h. Ogbadigbo LGA experiences two distinct seasons which are the dry and the rainy seasons.
Majority of the inhabitants of Ogbadigbo LGA engage in farming as a means of livelihood. Popular crops grown in the LGA include cassava, bambara nuts, melon, millet, and beniseed. A number of mineral deposits such as coal and kaolin are also found in the LGA. Trade also flourishes in Ogbadigbo LGA with the area hosting several markets such as the Ukwo Ogbo, Ede Otukpa, and Ukwo Otukpa markets.
Ogbadigbo LGA was created in the year 1991 from the Okpokwu LGA.
