Konshisha local government area is in Benue state, Northcentral geopolitical zone of Nigeria and has its headquarters in the town of Tse-Agberagba. The LGA is bordered by the Gboko, Gwer, Ushongo LGAs and by parts of Cross River state. Towns and villages that make up Konshisha LGA include Mbavaa, Shan-Gevtie, Tyoate, Shom, Nenge, Gbende, Achoho, and Jov. The estimated population of Konshisha LGA is put at 209,313 inhabitants with the area majorly populated by members of the Tiv ethnic group. The Tiv language is widely spoken in the area while Christianity and Islam are the commonly practiced religions in the area.
Konshisha LGA covers a total area of 1,673 square kilometres and has an average temperature of 28 degrees centigrade. The area hosts a number of water bodies such as the Beraba Lake and the Konshisha river. The landsape of Konshisha LGA is also characterized by a litter of mountains such as the Selagi and the Agila mountains.
Farming is the occupation of the vast majority of the inhabitants of Konshisha LGA with crops such as yam, cassava, rice, guineacorn, and soyabeans grown in large quantities within the area. Trade also flourishes in the area with the LGA hosting number of markets where a wide variety of commodities are bought and sold. Other important economic activities engaged in by the people of Konshisha LGA include quarrying, food processing and hunting.
Konshisha LGA was created in the on the 28th of February, 1983 from the old Vadeikya LGA.
