Logo LGA is domiciled in Benue state, North-central Nigeria and has its headquarters in the town of Ugba. The LGA shares boundaries with the Ukum, Guma, Buruku,and Katsina-Ala LGAs and with parts of Taraba state. Towns and villages that make up Logo LGA include Zanzan, Anyilamo, Abeda, Ugba, Tombo, Nenzaev, and Mbater. The estimated population of Logo LGA is put at 194,613 inhabitants with the vast majority of the area’s dwellers being members of the Tiv ethnic group. The Tiv language is widely spoken in the LGA while the religions of Christianity and Islam are practiced in the area.
Logo LGA hosts the popular Logo stream and has an average temperature of 28 degrees centigrade. The LGA’s landscape is characterized by a litter of hills such as the Agbanyado and the Shisho hills. Also, a number of water bodies such as the Anyibe and Warawa lakes are found in the area.
Farming is the major occupation of the people of Benue state with the area known for the large cultivation of a number of crops. Trade also flourishes in the area with the LGA hosting a number of markets such as the Ikyoo and the Dooshima markets which attract hundreds of buyers and sellers daily. Also, a number of mineral deposits such as salt are found in Logo LGA.
Logo LGA was created from the Katsina-Ala LGA in the month of December 1996.
