Ilejemeje local government area is in Ekiti state, Southwest geopolitical zone of Nigeria. The headquarters of the LGA are in the town of Iye and the LGA comprises of several towns and villages which include Otun Ekiti, Osan, Erinmope, Igogo, Iye, Ewu, Obada Isaoye, and Kosu. The estimated population of Ilejemeje LGA is 151,833 inhabitants with the vast majority of the area’s dwellers being members of the Yoruba ethnic group. The Yoruba language is extensively spoken in the area while the religions of Christianity and Islam are commonly practiced in the area.

Farming is an important economic activity engaged in by the people of Ilejemeje LGA with a variety of crops such as pepper, coconut, cassava, and cocoa grown in the area. Trade also flourishes in the LGA with the area hosting several markets where a wide variety of commodities are bought and sold. Other important economic activities engaged in by the people of Ilejemeje LGA include pottery, hunting and wood carving.
