Atiba

The Atiba local government area is located in Oyo state, Southwest Nigeria. The headquarters of the LGA is in the town of Ofa Mefa and is made up of towns and villages like Abolupe, Afonja, Alusekere, Gbanta, Ijawaya, Olugbile, Sangolokeke, and Tak. The population of Atiba LGA is estimated at 121,180 inhabitants with the vast majority being members of the Yoruba ethnic division. Christianity and Islam are commonly practiced in the area while the Yoruba and English languages are widely spoken in Atiba LGA. Atiba LGA is home to a number of colourful festivals which include the Sango festival.

Atiba LGA covers a total area of 1,757 square kilometres and has an estimated humidity level of 61 percent. The major seasons in the area are the rainy and the dry seasons with average temperature pegged at 28 degrees centigrade.

ECONOMY OF ATIBA

Atiba LGA is home to a fairly boisterous agricultural sector with crops such as rice, cocoa, and wheat grown in substantial quantities. Trade is also an important economic feature of Atiba LGA with popular markets such as the Ajegunle and the Koso markets offering buyers an endless list of items.
