Bosso

Bosso local government area is found in Niger state, Northcentral Nigeria and has its headquarters in the town of Maikunkele. Bosso LGA comprises several towns and villages which include Maitumbi, Chanchaga, Kodo, Shata, Kampala, Bejo, Garatu, and Maikunkele. Bosso LGA has an estimated population of 121,088 inhabitants with the prominent tribes in the area being the Nupe, Gbagyi, and the Hausa. Islam and Christianity are the commonly practiced religions in Bosso LGA with the Nupe and the Hausa languages spoken extensively within the area. Popular landmarks in Bosso LGA include the mini campus of the Federal University of Technology, Minna.

ECONOMY OF BOSSO

The majority of the inhabitants of Bosso LGA are subsistence farmers with crops such as maize, yam, rice and millet grown in the area. The area is also home to several markets such as the Kure market and the New Bosso local market where dwellers of Bosso LGA go to purchase a variety of commodities.
