Donga local government area is found in Taraba state, Northcentral Nigeria and has its headquarters in the town of Donga. The towns and villages that make up Donga LGA include Akume, Gidan-Dutse, Suntai, Sabongida Tukura, Ndoro, Atsagbo, Mararaba, Kumbo. The population of Donga LGA is put at 127,866 inhabitants with the area hosting members of several tribes such as the Chamba, the Yandang, the Hausa and the Fulani. Islam and Christianity are commonly practiced in Donga LGA while the Hausa language is widely spoken in the area. Donga LGA is home to a number of festivals which include the Purma festival and the Ichen cultural festival.
Donga LGA covers a total area of 3,121 square kilometres and hosts the Donga river which flows through the LGA. The average temperature of the area is put at 32 degrees centigrade while the humidity level of the LGA is at an average of 17 percent.
