Batagarawa is a local government area in Katsina state, Northwest Nigeria. The headquarters of the LGA are in the town of Batagarawa and comprises towns such as Kayauki, Mallamawa, Batagarawa, Barawa, Dan Iyan, Ajiwa, Bakiyawa, and Babibayawa. Batagarawa local government area comprises of a number of ethnic groups which include the Hausa and Fulani tribes with the Fufulde and Hausa languages spoken extensively in the area. Islam is the major religion in Batagarawa local government area while the population of the area is estimated at 132,094 inhabitants.
