Baure

Baure local government area is situated in Katsina state which is part of the Northwest geopolitical division of Nigeria. The headquarters of the LGA are in the town of Baure while the LGA shares borders with parts of the Niger Republic. Baure LGA is made up of several towns and villages which include Babban Mutum, Kwasamawa, Faski, Baure, Yankirya, Kagara, Komo, and Taramanawa. The population of Baure local government area is put at 144,788 inhabitants with the vast majority being members of the Fulani tribe. Fufulde and Hausa are commonly spoken languages in Baure LGA while Islam is the commonly practiced religion within the area.

Baure local government area covers a total area of 707 square kilometres and has an average estimated temperature of 36 degrees centigrade. The humidity level of Baure LGA is put at 10 percent while the two dominant seasons in the area are the dry and the rainy seasons.

ECONOMY OF BAURE

Agriculture is the main means of livelihood of the people of Baure with a number of crops cultivated within the region. Cattle rearing, hunting and commerce are amongst the other important economic activities engaged in by the inhabitants of Baure. Popular markets such as the Garki international market attract thousands of buyers and sellers and provide platforms for the sale and acquisition of a number of commodities.
