Kurfi

Kurfi local government area is in Katsina state, North-west geopolitical zone of Nigeria and has its headquarters in the town of Kurfi. Kurfi LGA is part of the illustrious Katsina Emirate and is made up of a number of towns and villages which include Birchi, Yar Unguwa, Sabon Layi, Tamawa, and Kurfi. The estimated population of Kurfi LGA is put at 169,732 inhabitants with the area mostly inhabited by members of the Fulani ethnic groups. The Fufulde language is commonly spoken in the area while the religion of Islam is mostly practiced in the LGA. Notable landmarks in Kurfi LGA include the Government Science Secondary School, Kurfi.
