Kusada

Kusada local government area is located within Katsina state, North-west Nigeria and has its headquarters in the town of Kusada. The LGA is part of the prestigious Katsina Emirate and features towns and villages such as Kofar, Kaikai, Yashe, Mawashi, Dudunni, Dangamana, and Tofani. The estimated population of Kusada LGA is put at 179,842 inhabitants with the majority of the area’s dwellers being members of the Hausa and the Fulani ethnic affiliations. The Hausa and the Fufulde languages are commonly spoken in the area while the religion of Islam is widely practiced in the LGA.

Kusada LGA covers a total area of 390 square kilometres with the average temperature of the area put at 34 degrees centigrade. The area witnesses two major seasons which are the dry and the rainy seasons. The average wind speed in Kusada LGA is 9km/h.

A number of economic activities are engaged in by the residents of Kusada LGA and these include farming and animal rearing. Trade also booms in the LGA with the area hosting several markets where a plethora of commodities are bought and sold.

HISTORY OF KUSADA

Kusada LGA was created in the year 1996.
