Bodinga

Bodinga local government area is found in Sokoto state which is domiciled within the Northwest geopolitical enclave of Nigeria. The headquarters of the LGA are in the town of Bodinga and consists of towns and villages such as Dingyadi, Badawa, Sifawa, Lukuyawa, Toma, Garko, Tulluwa, and Bindiri. The population of Bodinga LGA is put at 121,042 inhabitants with the majority of the area’s dwellers being members of the Hausa and Fulani ethnic divisions. Islam is the major religious affiliation in Bodinga while the Hausa and Fufulde languages are widely spoken in the area. The Bodinga LGA is traditionally superintended over by the Sarkin Bodinga.

Agriculture is the economic mainstay of the people of Bodinga LGA with a plethora of crops cultivated in the area. Other important economic activities in Bodinga LGA include hunting, cattle rearing, mat making and trade.
