Tureta local government area is domiciled in Sokoto state, North-west geopolitical zone of Nigeria. The LGA has its headquarters in the town of Tureta with the LGA sharing borders with parts of Zamfara state. Towns and villages that make up Tureta LGA include Bimasa, Lofa, Dorawa, Duma, Kawara, Kuruwa, Budda, Tureta, and Ruga. The estimated population of Tureta LGA is put at 141,702 inhabitants with the LGA majorly occupied by members of the Hausa/Fulani ethnic groups. The Hausa language is commonly spoken in Tureta LGA while the religion of Islam is extensively practiced in the area. Notable landmarks in Tureta LGA include the Government Secondary School Tureta.
