Isa local government area is in Sokoto state, Northwest geopolitical zone of Nigeria and has its headquarters in the town of Isa. Isa LGA shares borders with the Sabon Birni LGA and with parts of Zamfara state and the Niger Republic. Towns and villages that make up Isa LGA include Turba, Bafarawa, Tozai, Yanfako, Bargaja, Gidan Bawa, Isa, Gidan Dikko. The estimated population of Isa LGA is 149,513 inhabitants with the majority of the area’s inhabitants being members of the Gobirawa and Fulani ethnic groups. The Hausa and the Fufulde languages are commonly spoken in Isa LGA while Islam is the widely practiced religion in the area.
