Sokoto North

Sokoto North local government area is found in Sokoto state, North-west geopolitical zone of Nigeria. The headquarters of the LGA are in the town of Sokoto and is made up of several districts which include Karaye, Mana, Salami, Dandi, Gagi, Sabon Birni, Rujin Sambo, and Mabera Idi. The current estimated population of Sokoto North LGA is put at 339,410 inhabitants with the area majorly populated by members of the Hausa and Fulani ethnic groups. The Hausa language is commonly spoken in the LGA while the religion of Islam is widely practiced in the area. The Sultan of Sokoto is the paramount traditional ruler in Sokoto North LGA while the notable landmarks in the area include the Giginya Barracks and the Army Day Secondary School.
