Tangaza

Tangaza local government area is domiciled in Sokoto state, North-west geopolitical zone of Nigeria. The headquarters of the LGA are in the town of Gidan Madi with the LGA sharing boundaries with parts of the Niger Republic. Towns and villages that make up Tangaza LGA include Sakkwai, Kalanjemi, Gongono, Raka, Suti, Mafonho, Gurdam, and Gidan Madi.The estimated population of Tangaza LGA is put at 259,848 inhabitants with the area primarily inhabited by members of the Hausa/Fulani ethnic groups. The Hausa language is spoken in Tangaza LGA while the religion of Islam is extensively practiced in the area. Notable landmarks in Tangaza LGA include the Adare Model Primary School.

Tangaza LGA is a hub for the rearing and sales of a variety of domestic animals such as cows, horses, and camels. Trade also flourishes in the LGA with the area hosting several markets which attract a multitude of buyers and sellers of different commodities. Other important economic enterprises engaged in by the people of Tangaza LGA include farming and crafts making.
