Rabah

Rabah local government area is domiciled in Sokoto state, North-west geopolitical zone of Nigeria with the headquarters of the LGA in the town of Rabah. Towns and villages that constitute Rabah LGA include Gandi, Rabah, Galadima, Baraya Zaki, Tofa, Goddodi, Yari Gwaddadi, and Mai kiyara. The estimated population of Rabah LGA is put at 274,812 inhabitants with the LGA mostly populated by members of the Hausa and the Fulani ethnic groups. The Hausa language is commonly spoken in the LGA while the religion of Islam is widely practiced in the area.

Rabah LGA covers a total area of 2433 square kilometres and has an average temperature of 34 degrees centigrade. The LGA is characterized by large swaths of dry, arid land with the average humidity level in the LGA put at 24 percent.

ECONOMY OF RABAH

Trade is an important economic activity in Rabah LGA with the area hosting several markets such as the popular Gandi Friday market where a variety of commodities are bought and sold. The LGA is also a hub for the cultivation of a number of crops such as millet, rice, and sorghum. Other important economic activities in Rabah LGA include animal rearing, pottery and leather works.
